A third space for fibre arts lovers

Making friends as an adult is hard. Making friends in a massive city like London is hard. But making friends with people who are as obsessed about creating things as you are? Easy peasy.

SW Stitch Society started just this way. Helena had just moved to a corner of SW London, didn’t know anyone locally, and was feeling meh about it all. “Surely there’s at least one girlie out there who wants to be pals.”, she thought.

Well indeed there was, they just needed a (literal) piece of string to connect them. And so SW SS was born, as a second home in London for all yarn and textile lovers to come together, always with something on the needles to break the ice first.

Our founder, Helena

Two years ago, Helena picked up a sewing machine and never looked back. She’s obsessed with creating all manners of clothing whether it be by knitting, upcycling or sewing from scratch.

By day, she works as a Product Manager at a bank. By night, she goes to the knitting needles to get the creative flow going again.

She’s also partial to the colour pink.
